Join us in being part of building a sustainable energy future for New Brunswick.NB Power’s Generation division is seeking an Operator at the Belledune Generating Station. The Operator is responsible for controlling the operation of the generating units and auxiliary equipment in order to maintain the efficient production and continuous flow of electricity to meet system operating requirements.Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting operational checks of all plant and auxiliary equipment.
  • Completing environmental compliance checks inside and outside the station.
  • Performing system lockout/tag out in support of maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Power Engineering Technology Diploma.
  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate of Qualification.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or a Class 7 Level II Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
The successful candidate will be a self-directed, industrious individual with good problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills. Computer literacy and the ability to build and maintain good working relationships are also essential to this role.An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
