Job Description

Job Title: Tax Planning LawyerOur client is seeking a Lawyer - Tax Planning to provide legal advice on tax planning for estates and trusts. The lawyer will help clients minimize tax liabilities, plan for eventual inheritance, and handle tax-related issues after the death of an estate holder. They will also assist clients with estate planning, preparation of trust agreements, drafting of wills, preparation and filing of estate tax returns, and representation in tax disputes.What you will do:

  • Work closely with their clients to identify goals and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide advice on various estate planning strategies, such as gifting, estate freezes, and the use of trusts.
  • Handle the administration of trusts, including trustee selection, investment decisions, and distribution of assets to beneficiaries.
What you bring to the role:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Tax Planning
  • Completion of in depth Tax Course or LLM in tax
  • Hold a JD or LLB degree from an accredited law school.
  • Be licensed to practice law in British Columbia and in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • Expertise in tax law, experience in estate planning and administration, and a thorough understanding of fiduciary responsibilities.
