Position Title:Cutter OperPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimeRequisition ID: 8925May 19, 2021Cutter Deck OperatorREPORTS TO: Position Supervisor or ManagerDUTIES:Monitor the performance of the cutting system through various tests such as tube alignment, cut quality, shattering and breakage.Monitor and optimize waste streams from the cutting area such as slivers, nubbins and ADR cubes.Change, disassemble and rebuild cutter heads as well as occasionally sharpen cutter blades.Monitor tuber temperatures and ensure that they are adequate in order to prevent either excessive shattering or cutter blockages.Operate and monitor the Welliver camera system and make adjustments as required to ensure efficient cutting throughout every shift.Ensure correct spare cutter heads are stored in the sleeves at the cutter deck.Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation practices in the cutter deck area including 5S, routinely scheduled tasks, daily HPC (High Performance Clean) and CIP (Clean in Place).Provide support and relief to the Starch and ADR Operators. Must be able to operate all equipment associated with defect removal including ADRs and Tegras.Maintains all required documentation including entering SPC and Manual logger data.Complete routinely scheduled sanitation tasks including high pressure washing, scrubbing, deep cleaning, waste disposal, and general housekeeping.Other related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Must have proven history of safe work habits.Physically capable of performing all required duties including heavy lifting (up to 70lbs).Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) and general production requirements is an asset.Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.Successful completion of a 90-day familiarization period is requiredMust be willing to obtain Forklift License, Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift (minimum height requirement 20’)The company maintains the right to schedule employees based on production demandsand requirements, which may require the need to move to an alternative shift (either in a temporary or permanent transfer)Position Grade – 8 ($26.49 to $27.85)Closing Date: June 4, 2021 @ NoonMcCain Foods is an equal opportunity employer.
