Position Title: Maintenance SchedulerPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: CarberryRequisition ID: 19458McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Scheduler in our Carberry, Manitoba Facility. This position serves to leverage their maintenance and communication skills to lead the planning and scheduling of maintenance in our facility. This position executes efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity. In order to fulfill these responsibilities in the most effective manner, the Scheduler is empowered to manage work priority, develop job plans, define parts and material, define crafts and skills and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work control plan. In addition, the Scheduler provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving Preventive Maintenance activities.REPORTS TO: Plant Engineering Manager, or other as designated by the CompanyDuties and Responsibilities:Research, prioritize, schedule and drive the execution of maintenance workProduce and distribute a weekly maintenance schedule for all trades with input from the Planners and maintenance supervisorsTrack craft backlog and recommend resource changes to achieve a manageable backlogUses SAP to develop a daily work schedule to secure adequate resources to complete preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance.Schedule maintenance activities such as inspections, instrument calibrations, and equipment preventive / corrective maintenance with a 3 to 4 week forward looking schedulingProvide labor estimates for internal and external resourcesConduct regular review meetings for overdue, unplanned and pending workPromote proactive maintenance processes and develop strategies that will drive continuous improvement from an operational standpointAssist in the development of PM’s, predictive maintenance, and O.E.E (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)Supervise a small reliability-focused maintenance teamMaintain and improve CMMS arrangement of the plant – equipment hierarchy, BOM’s and risk registerIntegrate with other members of the Maintenance leadership team, work closely with Production supervision, and liaise with corporate support to coordinate execution of workProvide a safe working environment by assuring and enforcing strict adherence to all Provincial and Federal standards and McCain PoliciesLead and / or participate in investigations as requiredWork with the maintenance personnel to ensure that the work is done properly and safelyPerform other duties as directed by Plant Engineering ManagerQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, or a related fieldComfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, in a food manufacturing facilityDemonstrates initiative and ability to problem solveFamiliar with Microsoft Office suite of programs, and an aptitude for learning new software programsDemonstrates discretion in dealing with sensitive matters and maintains confidentiality of information and documentsPerforms effectively under tight deadlines and changing prioritiesPossesses strong attention to detail and accuracyManages multiple priorities in an efficient mannerExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPrior experience using drafting software (i.e. autoCAD, solidworks etc) is considered an asset but not requiredPrior manufacturing work experience preferred but not requiredWe offer competitive benefits and pension package with the opportunity for advancement within the McCain Global Network.
