Job Description

Job DescriptionJYSK is seeking a Treasury Accountant to join our successful Finance team on a permanent, full-time basis. The position will be based out of JYSK Canada’s head office in Coquitlam, BC.Reports to the Treasury Supervisor, the Treasury Accountant will manage the cash flow primarily through asset-based lending, participate in the month-end close, perform key account reconciliation to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the transactions and collaborate with the district managers and IT department to solve issues and improve the efficiency of the current system.The ideal candidate is well-organized in managing time and tasks, has a strong understanding of general accounting principles (ASPE) and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.The job qualifies as the CPA practical experience under PERT.Key ResponsibilitiesCash Flowamp; Treasury Management

  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including account relationship managers, District Managers and others.
  • Prepare the weekly cash flow reports to internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor the cash positions to ensure all treasury accounts are adequately funded.
  • Work closely with the AP team to ensure the payments are made as per the cash flow.
Month-end, year-end
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and perform variance analysis on financial costs
  • Budget and plan for financial costs each year
  • Ensure all account reconciliations are performed timely and with proper supporting documents
  • Investigate and resolve the discrepancies resulting from internal processes or technical issues.
Others
  • Prepare supporting documents for the monthly financial package to the bank
  • Prepare supporting documents for interim audit from the bank or external parties
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as needed during the year
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and manage cash resources

What do you bring to the role
  • Minimum of one year of full-cycle experience, preferably previous treasury experience with cash flow.
  • Experience in a high-volume multi-location organization with +25M revenue would be considered an asset.
  • CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues before they develop.
  • Strong attention to detail and information accuracy
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
