We are looking for a Level 1 or 2 Early Childhood Educator to join our team! This position is an 18 month contract.Role and Responsibilities· Implementing small group activities.· Plan projects based on children’s current and emergent interests.· Observing and evaluating the children’s interactions with children.· Redirecting a child’s inappropriate behavior.· Plan and implement enriched programs in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.· Maintain a close relationship with families and their children to promote a sense of family and exceptional customer service.· Participates in and applies knowledge from research to children’s learning.· Understands and complies with provincial, and municipal child guidance policies.· Completes required documentation of children’s development and interactions.· Ensures all children programs provide quality care, service and support to the participants and their families.· Understands the legal responsibilities and moral imperative to report suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services.· Provide a daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group activities.· Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions & comments that extend dialogues.· Responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well-being of the children.· Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.· Observe the behavior of children and discuss their abilities, interests & needs with their parents and other staff members.· Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.· Preparing meals and snacks as required.· Complete cleaning duties as required.· Follow all policies and procedures.· Other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Education Requirements· Early Childhood Education Level 1, 2 or equivalent, as determined by the Early Years Branch.· Effective communication skills.· First Aid and CPR Certificates (required).· Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector (current in the last 6 months) (required)· Minimum of six months’ experience working with young children.· Must be legally eligible to work within CanadaPreferred Skills· Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping.· Passion for ongoing professional development and growth.Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contractContract length: 18 monthsSalary: From $13.75 per hourBenefits:
