Job Description

Valard, is Canada’s premier utility contractor, as well as head of the Valard Group of Companies AND part of the Quanta Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America. Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications, and renewable energy.Valard Construction LP is looking to fill the position of Accounts Payable Administrator in the Edmonton office.The position requires experience with large volumes, tight deadlines and at minimum 3 years previous Accounts Payable experience with a large company.JDE experience is an asset. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient and accurate handling of payable transactions.JOB DUTIES:

  • Accurate and timely processing of large volumes of invoices into the financial system that may require investigation.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external customers daily.
  • Identify and assist in rectifying issues that may cause delays in goods or services for the company.
  • Process payments through EFT, cheque, or wire payment functions.
  • Validate banking information and conduct call-backs to prevent fraud.
  • Process expense claim reports to comply with company policies.
  • Process Accounts Receivable payments into the JDE system.
  • Assist with consolidating back up documentation for audits.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSamp; ABILITIES:
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable is required.
  • Experience with Canadian tax guidelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft office and outlook.
  • Quick learner with computer software.
  • Experience with JD Edwards is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be well-organized and a self-starter.
  • Demonstrates effective written, verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction, willing to ask questions and work under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and dependability.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize workloads.
  • Must have above-average data entry skills.
  • Basic accounting principles an asset
  • Ability to perform calculations on invoices.
  • Work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
