Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Planner is responsible for overseeing all the planning activities to assure a successful delivery of the product. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintain a Bill of Materials (BOM) and other information in an MRP System (M3), ordering material and controlling inventory levels. The Planner must be dedicated and committed to ensure that all work is completed without exception.Summary of duties Creating and maintaining data in ERP system (mainly from new released engineering and ECNs)o Creating & maintaining new part numbers based on Item types (Production items, Stockable items, Non Stockable items, Repair items, Configuration items, Tooling items and Customer Furnished Equipment).o Material Planners are responsible for assigning right Planning Parameters to the items i.e. Responsible codes, Planning policies, Planning methods; Stock Parameters i.e. Safety stock, Re-Order Points; and right Warehousing and expiration parameters.o Gathering Data from different departments to capture right QA clauses and Shelf life.o Making sure that items are accurately costed by ensuring the Costing Process is followed in a timely manner.o Incorporating Engineering change notices and modifying BOMs and items if necessary.o Data technicians make sure the items and BOMs are at accurate revisions at all times. Creating & maintaining work instructions and attaching the right process to the items based on engineering specifications and defined processes by methods team. Bill of Material creationo Structuring & maintaining BOM is one crucial task while making sure the item numbers and their quantities are reflective of the engineering drawing.o Adding right labour hours to the BOM (for accurate Cost).o Attaching right operations for the components (kitting purposes and for production to get their parts at the right place and at the right time)o Making sure BOM is 100% accurate.o Creating configuration BOMs for accurate forecasting. Complying with the rules defined and managed by the BU data steward (BDS). Set of common rules being defined by the group Master Data Management (MDM) team. Data accuracy and Quality are measured daily and actions are taken if KPIs are not up to an optimal level defined by the business. Releasing production work orders (if applicable) Communicating newly created part numbers and the completion of BOM to planning and making sure the deadlines for item and BOM creation are met without fail. Internal process changes impacting item variables and the BOMs can create a lot of repetitive work. This position needs to be able to prioritize their work load. To familiarize with and understand Specific Standard requirements for each program. To make sure all standard requirements are met while structuring BOMs and items. Active Communication is required with all the departments for information gathering and to be in supportive role.Job RequirementsQualifications Education: Certificate in logistic / Supply chain management a strong asset. Experience: 0-5 years. Computer Skill: Familiar with Windows Operating System®, Microsoft Office Suites® and experience with an MRP system (M3), or ability to learn MRP system. Other Skills: Ability to read engineering blue prints is preferred, good organizational skills. Languages: Ability to communicate in French and English.Purchasing Kirkland , Quebec , Canada Permanent Full-time College/ Technical Diploma/ Associates Degree First experienceQuick Apply
