Job Description

Location: North America, Canada, KirklandRef: INTERCONNECTNA00670Division: Smiths InterconnectJob Function: OperationsJob DescriptionWould you like to be part of our Kirkland team in the test areas validating performance of all types of fiber optic assemblies and subassemblies used in the production of Interconnect/Reflex products This position offers great compensation, benefits and career growth.The position requires meticulous attention to detail and quality in several key test areas. Some mechanical assembly may be required to finalize products. You will also be required to work in a clean room environment with appropriate protective garments.Monday through Friday, shifts available:

  • Day Shift: 7:00 am- 3:30 pm
  • Second Shift: 3:00 pm- 11:30 pm
  • Night Shift: 11:00 pm- 7:00 am
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs a number of very complex repetitive sequences of operations and requires dexterity, a high degree of concentration and some skills for very delicate components.
  • Works using key cards, written procedures, manuals, drawings and other verbal and written instructions detailing product performance criteria.
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive and delicate optical and electrical test equipment to ensure all our products are tested/sorted and within specifications.
  • Visual inspection of products (possibly using microscope) to company specifications.
  • Some mechanical assembly to finalize product after determining performance criteria.
    • Housing assembly
    • Labelling / serializing
  • Ability to follow documented data collection process and store appropriate data as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on test equipment as required.

  • One (1) years’ experience in a high-tech test environment.
  • Six (6) months of previous experience in some variety of test in microcircuit manufacturing and assembly is preferred
  • Candidates must be energetic, proactive and be a team player that can take ownership of their tasks
  • A high degree of concentration and close visual attention for sustained periods as well as very close attention to details.
  • Communicate in English & French (spoken and written)
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Secondary education or better (preferably in an electronics/photonics field)
