Staff housing is available, so your dream of living in the mountains is part of your adventure at Manning Park Resort.Manning Park Resort is seeking a passionate, self-motivated Accommodations Manager. The successful candidate has enthusiasm for the experience that Manning Park Resort offers - healthy recreation in a family-friendly resort atmosphere, set in a breath-taking natural, outdoor environment. This is a full-time, year round position.General Responsibilities:The Accommodations Manager oversees Accommodation Operations for Manning Park Resort. This includes daily operations & administrative duties of the Rooms Department and managing the Housekeeping team to ensure all aspects of guest accommodations meet high standards. As a member of the MPR Leadership team they will participate in the master plan development process for future growth and develop and mentor all staff within their department.Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Ensure optimal cleanliness and sanitation of facilities to meet or exceed MPR standards
  • Ensure a positive, communicative and constructive work environment emphasizing teamwork within the Rooms department and in interactions with all other Resort departments
  • Maximize profitability by following effective budgeting practices and optimizing room/yield and revenue management through traditional and potential channels
  • Liaise effectively with the Operations & Group Sales and Marketing Managers to improve sales and profitability while ensuring guests needs and expectations are met
  • Ensure the highest levels of guest service through the application of standards, policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership, motivation, training and support to ensure the efficient operation and positive work environment for the Front Desk, Housekeeping and Janitorial operations
  • Work with the Housekeeping Supervisor(s) to create efficient operations while ensuring cleanliness and maintenance standards are maintained or exceeded
  • Create and maintain positive and productive relationships with OTA’s, FIT’s and all third-party booking channels
  • Ensure effective communications exist between the Front Desk and all Resort departments to ensure clear and concise flow of information
  • Ensure Night Audit responsibilities and reporting are monitored and reviewed regularly
  • Review and respond to Guest Satisfaction surveys in a timely manner
  • Purchasing and requisitioning of operational goods & services
  • Maintain and exceed standards set for safety, security, cleanliness and sanitation levels through continual review
  • Maximize revenues and occupancy through yield and revenue management strategies by collaborating with the Operations Manager, Group Sales and Marketing Managers
Job Requirements/Qualifications
  • 3 years’ experience leading a successful team in an Accommodations-based environment
  • Experience in a Resort based setting in a rural or smaller community is an asset
  • Yield and revenue management experience
  • Experience with the RoomMaster property management system is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve in a continually evolving work environment
  • Experience developing and supporting successful, high functioning teams
  • A passion for Guest Service and a skill for anticipating guest needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership, teamwork and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of emergency and general crisis situation procedures
  • Excellent organization abilities
  • Longer term vision to assist in future planning for continued Resort growth
  • Good command of the English language
  • Second language is an asset
  • Strong numerical aptitude
