Job Description

We’re looking for our next Kitchen Manager!The Distillery Restaurants Corp., creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster Houseamp; Grill, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (Archeo and The Distillery District - Loft) - as well at the District Food Hall at Pearson International Airport - are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager.The ideal candidate not only understands that exceptional food is at the heart of hospitality but that they are an ambassador to Toronto #39;s unique food and beverage culture for an international audience. What you’ll experience with The DRC:

  • $73,000 per year, plus benefits and food discounts at all our restaurants.
  • Continued learning and development under the guidance of the DRC’s talented Director of Culinary, Tim Miles.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Managing multiple retail units #39; kitchen operations in accordance with standards and/or brand specifications
  • Contributing to a positive team environment by leading by example and living our company culture daily
  • Managing all kitchen team members to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Training and mentoring employees
  • Focusing on guest experience and aim to exceed all expectations
  • Assisting with the scheduling of all kitchen employees
  • Conducting inventory and maintaining unit inventory levels as well as purchasing
  • Supporting operational standards and financial goals
  • Daily administrative tasks
  • Maintaining the unit(s) in accordance with company, provincial and state health and safety standards
  • Other duties as required
What we’d like you to bring to the kitchen:
  • EXPERIENCE. We’re looking for a candidate who has culinary management experience.
  • EDUCATION + TRAINING. A degree or diploma related to culinary arts is considered a strong asset. You must possess a Food Handlers certificate.
  • FLEXIBILITY. You must be available to work days, evenings and weekends, early morning hours 3 a.m. shifts.
  • PASSION.
  • DRIVERS LICENSE. Having a driver #39;s license is considered advantageous due to early morning shifts
  • CRIMINAL RECORD SCREENING. A successful candidate must go through extensive security clearance.
