Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the ongoing repair and general maintenance of all equipment in the Central Facility, reporting any issues to their Supervisor / Manager. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.Major Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment within the plant to ensure the ongoing and reliable operation of plant equipment and systems to maintain targeted throughput and efficiency standards
  • Assess, report on, promote and carry out process improvements initiatives, specifically with regard to machine and/or system reliability and improved performance
  • Perform all daily checks as per TSSA requirements on the ammoniaamp; water tower systems and manage TSSA inspection visits and be the direct contact with inspector on corrective actions
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining the preventive maintenance program, carry out maintenance activities, work orders, and replacement or repair of defective parts, components or system performance testing and update files and records of work and equipment as required
  • Perform part replacement using manufacturing recommendations and update maintenance and parts records using a computerized maintenance management system
  • Evaluate condition of instrumentation, devices and parts in operations by checking calibration, listening to their sounds, verifying pressures, temperatures, etc. to detect imperfections
  • Maintain files, records, line diagrams, etc. of electrical and instrumentation equipment and installations
  • Complete required documentation, log books, timesheets, etc. when executing duties to ensure compliance
  • Adhere to and fully participate in the company #39;s Food Safety, Healthamp; Safety, Environmental and Management system and maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times
  • Direct and lead contractors during plant shutdowns and assist in the set up of new stores, installations and project work as required
  • Respond to “off” hours emergencies as required and be on scheduled “on call” rotation as well as provide essential services coverage during plant shutdowns and Statutory holidays Work in a self-directed manner by managing time and tasks to complete work assigned
  • Champion and implement at least one continuous improvement activity each year
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis
