Job Description

Financial Accountant Reporting directly to the Financial Controlleramp; Analyst, the Financial Accountantwill be responsible for the complete accounting cycle including:

  • Perform month end close of General Ledger
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and report variances
  • Perform monthly invoicing /chargebacks to affiliated companies
  • Responsible for coding and payment of professional fees and donations
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure proper GL coding of invoices
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and provide information to external auditors
  • Assist in annual preparation of budgets
  • Monitor budgets as well as budget control reports on a monthly basis
  • Ensure compliance with government sales tax (GST/QST) requirements
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, analysis and corrections
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Assist with development of accounting policies
  • Assist with automation of accounting procedures
  • Maintain and update electronic and paper filing system as needed
Required qualifications and experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a senior accountant responsible for the full accounting cycle
  • Professional working proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of J.D. Edwards accounting system is considered an asset

  • Effectuer la clôture de fin de mois du grand livre général
  • Analyser les comptes du grand livre général et signaler les écarts
  • Effectuer la facturation/refacturation mensuelle aux sociétés affiliées
  • Assurer la codification et le paiement des honoraires professionnels et des dons
  • Préparer les rapports mensuels et trimestriels
  • Assurer la coordination avec les comptes payables pour garantir le bon codage des factures dans le grand livre général
  • Assister à la préparation des audits de fin d #39;année et fournir des informations aux auditeurs externes
  • Assister à la préparation annuelle des budgets
  • Contrôler les budgets ainsi que les rapports de contrôle budgétaire sur une base mensuelle
  • Assurer la conformité avec les exigences gouvernementales en matière de taxe de vente (TPS/TVQ)
  • Préparer les rapprochements bancaires, les analyses et les corrections
  • Préparer des rapports spéciaux en collectant, analysant et résumant les informations
  • Participer à l #39;élaboration de politiques comptables
  • Participer à l #39;automatisation des procédures comptables
  • Maintenir et mettre à jour le système d #39;archivage électronique et papier selon les besoins
Qualifications et expérience requises:
  • Minimum de 3 ans d #39;expérience en tant que comptable senior responsable de l #39;ensemble du cycle comptable.
  • Maîtrise professionnelle de l #39;anglais et du français (parlé et écrit)
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • La connaissance du système comptable J.D. Edwards est considérée comme un atout.
