Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Fixed Assets and Maintenance and receiving task assignments from the Maintenance Planner, the Plumber performs a wide variety of plumbing tasks as it relates to large and small event set-up and teardown, building plumbing, heating and HVAC maintenance, repair, upgrades, and decommissioning.A significant portion of time will be spent servicing and repairing washroom plumbing, hot water heating systems, and RO water system. Other items may include but not limited to are boiler related items and HVAC. Work takes place in any one of 10 buildings and outdoors contained within the 101-acre site operated by REAL. Most work takes place indoors, however working outdoors is required from time to time.This position falls under the agreement between Regina Exhibition Association Limited and Saskatchewan Joint Board, Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union.WHAT YOU WILL DO Perform day-to-day duties, including but not limited to:

  • Regular inspection of plumbing fixtures and associated piping.
  • Responsible to setup portable or temporary plumbing for special events or tradeshows.
  • Install, service, repair, and maintain a variety temporary and permanent plumbing.
  • Service and repair mobile/portable wash stations (portable sinks).
  • Unplug a variety of drain clogs. (ie. Floor drains, sink drains, grease traps, toilets, urinals, downstream piping, etc.)
  • Replace plumbing fixtures and associated items.
  • Service and repair automated valves in potable water, RO, and heating systems.
  • Perform or assist with HVAC repairs.
  • Perform or assist with cleaning in-line filter screens in heating system
  • Other duties as assigned. May be required to perform non-typical plumber duties. (EX: assist facility engineer, mechanic or carpenter)
Permanent Full Time Position.Weekly Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm RequirementsWHAT IT TAKES Apply today if you meet the following requirements:
  • Must have a Journeypersons Plumber License.
  • Refrigeration Engineer certificate is an asset.
  • Fireman’s or 5th Class Power Engineering certificate is an asset.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Fall Protection Certificate
  • Mobile Elevated Platform Certificate
  • Understand plumbing terms, materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in the inspection, repair, installation, service, and maintenance of building plumbing systems.
  • Working knowledge of National Plumbing Code of Canada and how it pertains to commercial plumbing
Must be able to perform the following:
  • Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
