Job Description

Job DescriptionMissionAs a Control and Protection Technician, you will join a team of over 60 technicians, engineers and drafters. You #39;ll be able to participate in the design of high-level schematics, the development of protection philosophy and contribute to major electrical energy projects. You #39;ll work in a multidisciplinary environment, developing your skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on substation and hydroelectric power plant projects with our client, Hydro-Québec.You will be able to work in a hybrid setting ideally close to our offices in the Eastern Townships (Sherbrooke or Granby) or our other offices in Longueuil, Saguenay or Baie-Comeau.Primary Responsibilities

  • Design Control and Protection systems using software (AutoCAD and E3)
  • Prepare project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineering team members and project managers from other disciplines
  • Prepare plans, drawings and calculations based on specifications provided by Hydro-Québec.
  • Participate in the development of Control and Protection electrical systems, i.e., single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, AC three-wire diagrams, DC protection and control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection drawings, assembly drawings, material lists and specifications for panel fabrication and field installation.
  • Participate in the development of AC and DC power systems, i.e. single-line diagrams, AC and DC load calculations, distribution diagrams, connection drawings for chargers, batteries, inverters, etc.
  • Participate in site surveys (substations and power plants)
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines: switchgear, civil, mechanical and building to develop optimized and advanced substation and power plant system design solutions.
  • Ability to perform sporadic site work when the opportunity arises (start-up or monitoring)
