The location of this role is in North-America or Europe and ideally in a Business Line Analytical location. Willingness to travel globally is required.Your responsibilities

  • Strategy: Develops and drive the People Strategy in collaboration with the Business and functional leaders to achieve the BL objectives. Assesses organizational needs and develops enablers that allow the Business Line to deliver on defined priorities and achieve a values centric culture.
  • People Leadership and Development: Provides leadership and guidance to ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Coaches, motivates, and develops talent to build an effective, diverse, capable, and high performing team. Coaches and develops business line leaders, demonstrate courage to take necessary staffing decisions. Actively contribute to nurture a high-performance and diverse team.
  • Functional Excellence: Represents HR in the business, establishing strong relationships with all business leaders and employees, acts as partner and coach. Accountable for total HR offering to business leveraging Functional Expertise and demonstrating strong collaboration with other Business Line HR and functional experts. Supports the business with relevant HR strategies, policies, procedures, target-setting, planning, follow-up and set-ting up the tools and thought leadership including, but not limited to, Culture/Employee Engagement, Talent Acquisition, People Reviews, Capabilityamp; Workforce Planning, Career Pathing, Leadership and Functional Competency Assessments / Development, Organization Design, Diversity, Inclusionamp; Belonging, Values in Action, Learningamp; Development, People Performance, Executive Compensation, Employee Compensation, Benefits, Global Mobility, Mergersamp; Acquisitions, Labor Relations, People Analytics, Onboarding, and Policy/Procedure Administration.
  • Change Management: Facilitates and ensures success of change management initiatives across area of responsibility. Drives behavioral change and continuous improvement.
  • Functional Cost Management: Monitors performance, identifies issues, and develops action plans to support the business in meeting financial goals set for the HR function.
  • Standards and Compliance: Ensures compliance with legislation, HR policies and other compliance standards in all areas of responsibility. Acts as personal role model of the expected behavior and of the ABB Values. Assign and coordinate HR investigations in the Business Line according to the applicable framework, run the most complex/sensitive ones yourself with the support of the Division HR and Legal resources.
Your background
  • 10+ years of experience in HR function in Generalist roles including Business Partnering in engineering/manufacturing industrial companies with extensive remote / multi-country business.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders at senior level combining a strong customer service focus with capacity to constructively challenge, influence and persuade.
  • Strategic orientation with business acumen to lead and drive organizational value creation through people strategies.
  • Strong skills in data analytics for high quality data driven decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High problem-solving skills and solutions oriented approach.
  • Global mind-set, inter-cultural sensitivity, and willingness to travel internationally.
  • Fluency in English is essential (written and spoken).
  • Experience in HR fiduciary/investigation topics is a plus
  • Currently located in North-America or Europe
