Job Description

Local 3338Pay range:$19.54 Hourly Plus 9% in Lieu of BenefitsSFU Department Descr:Belzberg LibraryPosition Grade:3# of openings:3Biweekly Hours:Up to 21 hoursStudent library assistants at Belzberg Library are accountable for work in patron service, circulating materials, stack service and other services. Student library assistants perform other related duties consistent with position title and classification.Qualifications:

  • **High school graduation.
  • **6 months related experience.
  • 40 wpm keyboarding skill with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Familiarity with basic computerized record keeping functions.
  • Knowledge of Library of Congress Classification system.
  • A cooperative and courteous manner and an ability to communicate effectively with users and co-workers.
  • Ability to handle routine and repetitive work efficiently while working under pressure.
  • **Or an equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
Please note: There are up to 3 part-time positions available working up to 21 variable hours bi-weekly. During Fall term, Belzberg Library is open: Mon-Thu, 9 AM-10 PM; Fri, 9 AM-7 PM; Sat-Sun, 10 AM-5 PM. Scheduled shifts will fall within library opening hours. Priority will be given to qualified registered SFU students who must submit a Fall 2022 class schedule with their cover letter and resume.Assignment Start Date: September 4, 2022Assignment End Date: December 19, 2022Quick Apply
