Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.POSITION SUMMARYThe Business Manager - Manufacturing is responsible for collaborating with various members of the Manufacturing Leadership Team to develop and execute the sales and delivery plan as defined by the Annual Operating Plan and the Business Plan. This position will lead a team of analysts to continually improve the process of converting the Business Plan into line entry schedules, sales/delivery plans, and customer-friendly schedules. The Business Manager will also play a critical role in helping the NF team attain quarterly and annual delivery performance objective by identifying and driving issues to closure by engaging team members throughout the organization.WHAT YOU WILL DO:· Liaise between the Vice President of Manufacturing, Plants Managers and General Managers to ensure achievement of corporate objectives and contract on-time delivery goals in all plants.· Oversee planning of weekly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for Motor Coach Industries and New Flyer.· Ensure weekly sales and delivery targets are being achieved by all facilities, and development and oversight of recovery plans.· Improve process of accurately communicating delivery plans to customers and finance as required.· Improve Customer Friendly Process to better fit requirements.· Collaborate with Master Scheduling team and Analysts to create optimal detailed line entry schedule process.· Oversee team of Analysts; refine and streamline internal processes.· Prepare and adjust monthly labour forecasting matrix to reflect latest Master Production Schedule revisions.· Oversight of daily Production status call and ensure follow-up of issues preventing sales and manufacturing performance.· Lead various improvement initiatives relating to manufacturing and internal processes.· Ensure schedules are achievable and within customer requirements by providing feedback to the scheduling team.· Provide weekly update to the Executive Leadership Team on manufacturing performance during bus business report-outs.WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production related function with progressively more responsibility.· Post secondary education in business and/or engineering (equivalent experience will be considered).· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.· Exceptional communication, time management and organizational skills.· An analytical approach to problems with a solution-oriented mindset.· Advanced computer skills including Excel and other Microsoft Suite programs (e.g., SharePoint, PowerPoint).· Experience with Oracle would be considered an asset.Up to 10% of travel is required in this position.WHY JOIN OUR TEAM:• Competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.• A continuous learning environment.• Ability to advance your career with a growing company.• NFI Group was named a Manitoba Top Employer for 2020 and this is the tenth time since the competition was established in 2007.• Employee social committee organizes numerous events throughout the year, including summer barbecues, holiday festivities, sporting events and tournaments, and much more.• Ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives along with tuition subsidies for courses at outside institutions.OUR WHY:We exist to move people.
