Job Description

Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA).Further information is available at www.carfaircomposites.com.POSITION SUMMARY: The Grinder/Trimmer is responsible is responsible for using hand tools to cut through rough edges, along with precision cutting of fiberglass parts.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensure the surface of fiberglass parts is cut evenly and precisely.
  • Create a uniform thickness by sanding or grinding.
  • Follow verbal instructions for specific techniques and tools when finishing a part.
  • Trim, drill, route, sand, and grind fiberglass parts and surfaces.
  • Use jigs and fixtures to accurately mark parts for trimming or machining.
  • Support and actively participate in Lean and 5s initiatives.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in assigned area on a daily basis.
  • Read blueprints and complete parts according to the specified dimensions.
  • Document any non-conformities using a Correctiveamp; Preventative Action report (CAPAR).
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Prior experience in composite manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with hand tools (pneumatic, electric, manual)
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
